It's useful to refer to a breed standard to describe the ideal Welsh Springer Spaniel. In the USA, the American Kennel Club Breed Standard serves as a guide for WSSCA members to uphold in their breeding practices. Familiarity with the standard allows you to develop an image of how a Welshie is supposed to look and act. You can compare breed standards from different countries to see the variations in style and size present in the breed.
