Ch. Rysan's First Round Kayo, CDX
Kayo was born in our very
first litter in 1987, shortly after we moved into our Sparta home. We watched him grow up
and dreamed about his future as our first "home bred" champion. His formal show
career spanned December, 1988 - December, 1991. Kayo lived with Joy Quallenberg, who
trained and handled him in the highly competitive Northeastern show rings. Kayo was
retired from campaigning in December, 1991 and came home for his next career--obedience.
Kayo earned his CD with some nice class placements on the Tar Heel circuit in March, 1992,
just a few months after he returned home. He completed his CDX in February, 1994. Along
the way, he's earned a lifetime total of 79 Sporting Group placements, and the WSSCA
Specialty BoB awards in 1989 and 1990. As far as we know, he's the only Welshie ever to
earn 2 AKC Obedience titles (with placements!), 2 Specialty BoB wins, and 2 All Breed BIS
awards (in 1990 and 1991).There's no doubt about it, we had a real case of BEGINNER'S LUCK
with this puppy!
